2025 Summer Group Import

Now Accepting Interest Through July 12, 2025

We’re now accepting interest submissions for our Summer 2025 Group Import of Japanese ricefish (medaka), scheduled to arrive in the U.S. in early August. This is a great opportunity to secure rare and premium strains sourced from reputable breeders.

At SNR, we travel to Japan in person to select each fish by hand. From on-site selection to import and quarantine, we manage the entire process to ensure quality and transparency. With several successful group imports behind us, our system is designed to be reliable, organized, and customer-friendly.

Important: Photos are for reference only. Each fish is carefully selected during our visit to Japan, and many customers have shared that their fish look even better in person.

Note: We only import strains that are submitted through the interest form. If there's a strain you like, make sure to let us know by the deadline.

This summer’s import includes medaka from both SNR Korea and our long-standing Japanese breeder partners. It’s a rare chance to access a curated lineup of high-quality strains all in one shipment.

📝 How It Works

  1. 1️⃣ Submit your interest by Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 6 PM EST:

  2. 2️⃣ Between now and July 13, we’ll review your request and send you a custom quote via email. This will include:
    • Fish price
    • Shared international shipping fee
    • Domestic shipping estimate (based on your location)
  3. 3️⃣ If you’d like to move forward, reply to confirm your order. We’ll then send you an invoice for 50% of the total cost, due by Monday, July 14, 2025 at 6 PM EST.

    🔒 Please note: Once your order is confirmed, it cannot be changed. This is because we will be placing the order with the breeder on your behalf. Please double-check your selections and be thoughtful before submitting.
  4. 4️⃣ In early August, after the fish arrive in the U.S.:
    • We’ll send you photos of the strain you requested. The photos may show a group of fish from the same strain for reference.
    • From that group, we’ll carefully select a healthy and high-quality individual for your order.
    • A second invoice for the remaining balance will be sent, payable within 24 hours.

    ✈️ The fish are expected to arrive in the U.S. in early August, although the exact flight schedule is not yet confirmed. Once it is finalized, we’ll send an update to all participants in this group import.

  5. 5️⃣ All fish will go through a 10-day quarantine to ensure health before shipping.

⚠️ If Anything Changes

Since we’re working with live animals, unexpected changes can occasionally occur. If a requested strain becomes unavailable, we’ll contact you with two options:

  • A full refund
  • OR the chance to choose a different available strain

We will keep you informed throughout the entire process.

💳 Payment

All invoices are sent via email and can be paid securely using major credit cards.

🐟 Live Arrival Guarantee (DOA Policy)

We guarantee live, healthy delivery. In the rare case of a DOA (Dead on Arrival), please send a clear video of the fish inside the sealed bag within 2 hours of the delivery time.
