Live Fish (Medaka)
- Once a live fish order has been fulfilled (packed/shipped), it cannot be canceled. If there is any issue with the fish on arrival, please refer to our DOA policy and contact us right away at snrmedaka@gmail.com. Live fish cannot be returned. Please place orders carefully—returns for live animals are not possible.
Dry Goods (non-live items)
- Refunds are accepted only if the item is unused and in its original, unopened packaging.
- You must request a return within 7 days of delivery.
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend a trackable shipping method.
- Once the returned item is received and inspected, your refund will be processed within 7 business days to the original payment method.
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Report Issues
- If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please email snrmedaka@gmail.com within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the item and packaging.

To make things easier and ensure your medaka arrive safe and sound, we've introduced a flat rate shipping system so you can shop without worrying about complicated or unexpected shipping costs.

- $3 packing fee per order – includes insulation, styrofoam box, and materials
- Dry goods ship free when purchased alone. If combined with live fish, only the live fish shipping rate applies.
- No USPS – we use UPS only for all live fish orders.
- Free shipping on orders over $500
- All live fish orders are covered by our DOA guarantee, regardless of shipping speed
- Local pickup is free but must be pre-arranged before purchase
Shipping Schedule:
- We ship only on Mondays and Tuesdays to minimize weekend delays.
- Orders placed after Tuesday 12 PM EST will be shipped the following Monday.
Delayed Shipment Claim:
If your package arrives later than your selected UPS service, you may file a claim with UPS. Please take photos of the shipping label and the box and email them to snrmedaka@gmail.com.
Dry Goods Free Shipping:
Dry goods are shipped via USPS Ground or First Class, depending on the total weight. If you need faster delivery, you may request expedited shipping for an additional fee. Please contact us via email to arrange upgraded shipping: snrmedaka@gmail.com
I could not be happier! I ordered 6 of the miyuki platinum over the weekend. They were shipped out promptly on Monday and arrived by UPS ground on Wednesday. The fish arrived looking healthy and active. I was lucky to receive 2 additional juveniles. Today they are eating, exploring, and bringing me so much joy.

Ordered 27-Apr-2026 2pm and received 29-Apr-2026 12pm with excellent UPS tracking (thank god you don’t ship via USPS!). So it’s not technically full 3 days. I recently bought 2 pairs of Albino Youhiki Medaka from SNR Medaka, and they even added 1 extra fish for free, which was a really nice surprise.
All the fish I received are excellent quality, very healthy, and good size. You can really tell they select their stock carefully. I am very happy and satisfied with what I got.
Their customer service is also great. They were very helpful and kept emailing me throughout the whole process, giving updates and making sure everything was clear and smooth.
The packaging was top-notch — from the box to the plastic bags. The plastic bags they used are thick, high-quality material and even have their company initials printed on them, which shows how professional and serious they are about their business. The fish arrived safe and in perfect condition.
Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and I’m definitely planning to buy more fish from SNR Medaka in the future. Highly recommended!

It was great untill for some reason they started dying there is no other fish in the tank bigger then them. Was just weird but delivery and experience before hand was absolutely great!

If your water parameters look okay, try placing them somewhere with natural light like a balcony. These are outdoor raised medaka, so they tend to adjust better with some natural sunlight.
The quality of their medaka is great; q&a response time seem to vary but it seems like they are super busy when Medaka season kicks off. They are one of the very few that you can get your hands on rare type.
Please lower your price for rice fish to make it more affordable for more us in the hobby and keep up the great quality!!
